Orion was the very first sponsor to come on board to support EVolocity. In mid to late 2013, our founder, Rob McEwen, sought support to launch EVolocity Limited as a charitable company and met with Orion’s then-chief executive. They shared the view that Canterbury rangatahi needed something to help them look to the future after the trauma of the Christchurch earthquakes and believed EVolocity could be that spark.

Orion’s generous sponsorship enabled the programme to launch in Canterbury in 2014, and they’ve been unwavering supporters ever since. Their early backing also helped EVolocity secure sponsorship from other stakeholders, laying the foundation for this unique STEM programme, now EVolocity Charitable Trust – a nationwide organisation. Thanks to Orion, EVolocity continues to equip the next generation of changemakers and inspire future innovators to dream big.
