WHAT WE WILL COVER

-Tutors will share their expertise and take you through an introductory course in welding and fabrication

-Learn practical welding skills to make the most of your electric vehicle build – and gain lifelong skills

-Health and Safety in the workshop

-NMIT will provide safety glasses, welding helmets and gloves and overalls as needed

WHAT DOES WELDING INVOLVE?

Welding opens up endless new building opportunities – giving you the ability to fuse materials, typically metal, together to create new products or repair old items. When building your electric vehicle, welding allows you to customise structures using sturdy materials and up-cycle existing metal pieces.

Careers in welding include fixing cars and heavy equipment, to creating buildings or infrastructure such as skyscrapers, bridges, tunnels and pipelines.

BRING ALONG WITH YOU

Boots or footwear appropriate for the workshop environment.

The event is free to attend and food will be provided (remember to bring your drink bottle).
