WHAT DOES WELDING INVOLVE?

Welding opens up endless new building opportunities – giving you the ability to fuse materials, typically metal, together to create new products or repair old items. When building your electric vehicle, welding allows you to customise structures using sturdy materials and up-cycle existing metal pieces.

Careers in welding include fixing cars and heavy equipment, to creating buildings or infrastructure such as skyscrapers, bridges, tunnels and pipelines.

BRING ALONG WITH YOU

Teams should bring along their vehicles and any materials they may wish to use. This is an opportunity for your teams to be supported in their builds and utilise access to workshop equipment.

Boots or footwear appropriate for the workshop environment.

WINTEC will provide safety glasses, welding helmets and gloves and overalls as needed
