Before you begin designing your vehicle, you’ll need to decide what Competition Class you’ll be entering:
Standard Class
Standard Class teams use an unaltered EVolocity standard motor kit which includes the battery, motor, and motor controller. This class is most common for teams in their first three years of competing.
Class | Wheel Layout | Maximum Power* | Maximum Battery Voltage |
Standard | 2+ wheels (kart or bike) | ≤ 350 W | 30 V |
Open Class
Teams competing in this class must bring their own motor, motor controller and batteries.
Class | Wheel Layout | Maximum Power* | Maximum Battery Voltage |
Open | 2+ wheels (kart or bike) | ≤ 1000 W | 60 V |
Competition Class
The Competition Class sees teams designing a more intricate vehicle. Teams must supply their own motor, motor controller and batteries, and must have competed in EVolocity previously due to the complexity of the build and technical requirements.
Class | Wheel Layout | Maximum Power* | Maximum Battery Voltage |
Competition | 4 wheels (kart) | ≤ 3000 W | 60 V |
