With the world of motorsport embracing the electric revolution, Hyundai Next-Gen Motorsport Day was a milestone event for EVolocity, thrilling rally and electric enthusiasts alike with a showcase of EV racing. Hosted by ACE Motorsport, rally world champ Hayden Paddon, and EVolocity, the public enjoyed a day of speed and innovation as we celebrated the bright future of electric motorsport – and the young minds driving change.
As part of the event, EVolocity hosted its National Rally Day – a chance for EVolocity students from across the country to gather, collaborate, and go head-to-head on the track. Members of the public had a chance to check out the innovation off the track too, checking out the electric karts and bikes and chatting with teams about their vehicle’s unique features and challenges.
“Motorsport is part of my and our teams DNA. A DNA that involves future technology in a rapid evolving industry. That’s why it’s exciting to be involved in new projects focused around EV and Hydrogen. It is great that Evolocity is also playing a key role in this – introducing the youth to not only Motorsport but also EV technology. We are proud to be working alongside Evolocity for Next-Gen Motorsport day to help introduce Motorsport to more people.”
– Hayden Paddon, World Rally Champ and Director of Paddon Rallysport Group – creators of one of the first EV rally cars
“The success of this milestone event proved the growing popularity of e-motorsport in New Zealand. It was a fabulous chance to showcase the engineering, the innovation, the hard mahi (and fun) of EV racing. The future is bright, and we are proud to be a part of it.
A special mention to our event sponsors for making it happen – MTA, Etco and MeloYelo.”
