When it comes to education, there’s nothing quite like hands-on, real world learning. Students are more engaged, lessons more memorable, projects more inspiring. It can also break down barriers and build confidence; students are often learning before they even realise it, without any pre-conceived notions of their abilities.
EVolocity’s ‘Electrify your Bike’ Project, sponsored by MeloYelo, encapsulates these principles. Secondary school students are given parts to assemble their own bike, a motor kit, and the challenge to electrify it. If teams are feeling extra inventive, they’re also encouraged to add an extra feature to the e-bike. This year seven school teams were nominated to take part, and we can’t wait to see the results.
The outcomes of these projects can be powerful – big shout out to MeloYelo for making this project happen.
