EVolocity is pleased to announce a new partnership with JW Group in 2021. For the past three years JW Group has been the sole distributor of the Yutong electric bus in New Zealand, cementing their position as a market leader in transitioning New Zealand’s public transport sector to electric buses, and making them an exciting and meaningful sponsor of the EVolocity programme.
JW Group Strategic Partnerships Manager JD Rayner says “As a leader in transitioning New Zealand’s bus fleets to zero emission electric, we join EVolocity to help invest into the young innovative minds that might pursue training and employment in the clean energy transport sector. These champions of tomorrow deserve to have their enthusiasm supported and we’re happy to do our part where possible.”
Electric buses not only eliminate toxic emissions, but reduce noise pollution, reduce maintenance and long term running costs, reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lubricants, and give passengers a quieter ride. These are all qualities that underpin the environmental sustainability of electric vehicles that EVolocity promotes.
“EVolocity is thrilled to welcome JW Group as a key sponsor and to support New Zealand’s transition to clean energy transport.” says Sarah Fitzgerald, EVolocity chief executive. “JW Group is an industry leader in heavy electric commercial vehicles and we are looking forward to working together to advance zero emission technologies and develop future generations of engineers and technology innovators through our nationwide STEM program.”
JW Group made an appearance at the Auckland Regional final in November 2020, taking enthused supporters and EVolocity students on a trip around the Airforce base in one of their state of the art electric buses. EVolocity looks forward to a fruitful and dynamic partnership with JW Group in 2021.
